Lake Sebu Adventure Trip

Travel Period: August 29, 2011
Destination: Lake Sebu, South Cotabato

The Plan
It was just last week when we decided to have a trip since we'll be having a long weekend due to two declared holidays last Monday and Tuesday in celebration of National Heroes Day and end of Ramadan respectively. Among the places-to-go on my checklist in Mindanao, we decided to do the Lake Sebu adventure trip since most of us haven't been there. We were excited to witness the amazing lake and to experience the thrilling ride of the zipline strategically located above the majestic Seven Waterfalls of Lake Sebu. My travel companions this time were Kiara and her mom, Fritzie, Miching and her brother Jerry, Jake and his brother our driver. All plans were ready and off to go to Lake Sebu!

SOCCSKSARGEN Road Trip Experience
This is my first time to set foot on SOCCSKSARGEN region shortly known from South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City. We left from Davao City around 4:30 early in the morning, we passed Digos City, Malungon and finally reached General Santos City after 2 hours and a half travel time and took our breakfast. I just known that GenSan City will be celebrating its annual Tuna Festival every first week of September, and we never missed the chance to take a photo on the diorama depicting the Tuna Festival.

Roundabout in Koronadal City
Finally in Lake Sebu
We reached Koronadal City also known as Marbel after an hour ride, passed Surallah and finally Lake Sebu after another hour ride. We directly went to Punta Isla Lake Resort and without a doubt it has the vantage point of the amazing Lake Sebu. We toured around the resort, went to the floating restaurant, took pictures and had our sumptuous lunch, 'tilapia' cooked in different styles . After a few minutes of rest we decided to take the zipline experience situated in the Seven Waterfalls.

Zipline Unforgettable Experience
We arrived at the Seven Waterfalls around one in the afternoon and immediately paid the necessary fees. Some of my companions were nervous of the ride but nonetheless we all about to experience it. As for me, I was not really nervous, since it will be my third zipline experience, my first was in Eden Nature Park and second was on Loboc Adventure Park just last month. I was excited to zip down over the waterfalls and busy thinking on how to capture the experience.

700-M and 400-M Ride
We took the all rides package, maybe next time I'll the trekking package to see up close of the waterfalls. Package 1 worth 300 pesos compose of 700-meter ride (from Falls no. 1 to Falls no. 5) and 400-meter ride (from Falls no. 5 to Falls no. 2 parking area). We took the first 700-meter ride, it was a spectacular scenery down below the zipline where you can see the waterfalls and tree tops, reached the endpoint with an adrenaline rush experience, and immediately set up my camera for my incoming companions. Clearly, their smiles and screams explains their adventurous ride of their life they just had. We went to the second rig for 400-meter ride back to Falls no. 2 but dark clouds began to form and minutes after rains started to fall. We're stranded in the second rig due to heavy rains and the crew had temporarily stopped its operation when it rains. Luckily, after 30 minutes, the rain had subsided and time to resume the ride. Here comes the 400-meter ride to Falls no. 2.

Photo Session
After reaching the Falls no. 2, we had our photo ops where the waterfalls is the background. After a few minutes we decided to went backed to the van, and drove back to Davao City, my hometown. Another adventurous experience I had and a milestone I've conquered, next stop will be Dahilayan Adventure Park. :D

Thank you and God bless us all!
